SunWare yacht solar panels

Manufactured in Germany for over 20 years, SunWare solar modules are designed and tested specifically for use in salt water and other marine environments. Their size and construction makes them the ideal solar panel for installation on your yacht or narrowboat but they can also be used in other applications, such as caravan and motorhome installations.

The SunWare range is extremely flat - only 5mm deep! At the cable outlet, the panel will only add an additional 15mm to the surface to which it is being fixed. The panels have no sharp edges or components and can be fitted to a surface with a curve of up to 3%. This makes them ideal for use on sailing yachts, narrowboats and motor homes or caravans. The back of the module is completely flat so that it can be screwed or glued flush to the deck or roof and should always be fitted to a firm, inflexible surface. The panels are robust enough to be walked on in sea boots and to reduce the risk of slipping in wet conditions, the panel surface is slightly structured.

All 12V standard solar panels are designed with 40 crystalline, photovoltaic cells. Consequently, SunWare solar panels can be fitted without rear ventilation. Unlike a standard 36 cell solar panel, any drop in voltage due to high air temperatures is compensated for by the additional four cells, which thus enables the battery to fully recharge.

The modules are maintenance-free, durable, and weatherproof. Each panel has a self-cleaning surface and comes complete with a seawater-tight cable outlet, and a 3m PU sheathed cable which is robust, UV resistant and weatherproof. The solar panel cable is fitted with an integral cell protector, which is designed to prevent overheating of the solar cells when the solar panel is partially shaded. (To put the cable through under deck, you can cut off the cell protector and reconnect it to the cable again under the deck).
